How do I record a classroom lecture?

Summary

Overview on how to use Panopto to record a classroom lecture.

Body

Panopto Lecture Capture Overview

Panopto is the University’s platform for recording and sharing lectures and instructional content through Brightspace.
ℹ️ New Brightspace course shells are created every semester, so faculty may need to copy Panopto videos from previous courses into new ones.

Panopto is available 24/7, except during scheduled maintenance.

📱 Access & Compatibility

  • Mobile access: Panopto can be used on mobile devices.
  • Browser recommendation: Use Mozilla Firefox on both Windows and macOS for the best experience.
  • Recording from home: Faculty creating content outside campus should record offline using the Panopto desktop app.
  • Brightspace integration: Panopto can only be accessed through Brightspace, and must be enabled in each course.
