I have a Royal ID. How do I connect my WINDOWS computer to the wireless network?

ROYALSECURE is the campus-wide, secured wireless network.

  • You must be on our campus to connect to ROYALSECURE.
  • ROYALSECURE is available to University students, faculty and staff.
  • By using ROYALSECURE you agree to adhere to all University computing policies.

These instructions are specific to personally-owned WINDOWS wireless computers.

University-owned computers do not need to do this process.

Instructions for other devices are available at https://royalitsupport.scranton.edu/TDClient/147/Portal/KB/Category/1623/Network-internet-wireless.

To connect a WINDOWS device to ROYALSECURE:

  • Note that your system may give you some warnings about the installer being insecure - this is only because you are not connected to the internet and your system cannot verify the installer. Information Technology has verified the installer and it is safe to download and run.
  • Please make sure that the time and timezone are correct on your computer.

  1. On your Windows computer, click the network icon in the tray (near the clock).

Your browser may warn that it thinks the download is unsafe or that it is unable to check the download - this is expected, since you are not connected to the Internet. The file is safe to download and run. You may see something like this in your browser - if you do, click the three dots next to the file and click Keep or Download Anyway.
